Still alive, yadda yadda... This is becoming some sort of bi-quad-annual thing with the LiveJournal and all. But if you're reading this, then you know shit's good.

Christmas was good, spent it with the Miz and some friends with some dinner. Then the next day me and the nephews hung out in my new swanky-ass den, getting inebriated while wrecking classic tunes on Rock Band, and watched a bunch of idiotic internet videos, such as LASAGNA CAT!

Meh.  The weekend was miserably hot.  But thank Sagan's Ghost for air conditioners.  Speaking of Sagan, THIS should be arriving at my door anytime soon.

Went out and finally bought Burnout Paradise.  At $30 it's a steal, what with the free expansions coming and all.  Oh yeah, and I beat BCR over the weekend.  Shit is hardcore bananas.  But the ending is sooo worth it, just like the NES version, but yet I crave more.

Also been stocking up on subtitled eps of Game Center CX.  It's even more entertaining once you can understand what's being said.  Even Misti's getting into it.  I can't wait for the official releases.  And I wouldn't be surprised if there's a bastardized American version to come...

Interesting work day...

Come in, and the first thing that happens is that I'm suddenly thrust with the responsibility to train a new employee assigned to our imaging department.

"Can you train him?"

"I guess I've got no choice..."

But it went well.  The guy knows how to code Python and manage satellite data.  Which in my area of work doesn't apply anywhere whatsoever.  About right here I'd insert some witty anecdote but I'm too tired from the day.


But the interesting part about it was that one of our new imagers once worked in the game industry.  Freelance pixel pushing as he called it.


He worked with Blue Sky Software on the first two Jurassic Park games on Sega Genesis.  I think he also worked on the Vectormans as well.  Then he moved onto 989 Studios for some sports games and some other odd projects.

It made for an interesting work day.  We talked about the industry in general, and helped the hours go fly faster than a tweeker in a Delorean time machine.

Other than that, me and Misti are going to have to move soon due to this house's owner foreclosing.  Long story short, we're moving in a couple months.  But maybe things will get better if we move closer to work.

Well actually to those who've known me through the ages, I've always had an affinity for all things electronic/video game related.  Ever since I've been pulling in the mad duckets from my current job, I've been buying extravagant crap left and right.  With the erratic hours of my job coupled with all these toys to play with, I've not been able to establish a somewhat 'normal' social life (even if I try :P ).

Oh yeah, I've quit smoking now.  Been without a cigarette for 6 days now.  Which is the longest I've willingly gone without.  It's been pretty easy so far. I've only had one freakout moment from the withdrawals and I'm sparingly chewing nicorette to quell the (very mild) cravings.  I'm already noticing a surge of motivation and energy, but I could do without the expelling of the lung butter.  I'm believing that the ease of quitting is attributed to the fact that I've smoked American Spirit ultra-lights for the past 12 months.

I caved in and bought a PS3 and GTA4 a while ago.  All I can really say about GTA4 is 'meh'.  Don't get me wrong, the graphics are eye pleasing, the environments beautiful and the plot is very gripping.  But the gameplay as a whole seems like one giant step backwards from San Andreas.  Too much focus on realism, which is kind of ironic considering that video games are meant to be an ESCAPE from REALITY.

Now I'm currently neck deep in Metal Gear Solid 4 - Tactical Cutscene Action, which isn't necessarily bad at all.  I haven't completed the game quite yet, but it's apparant that there's quite a bit of gameplay buried deep in all of the theatrics.  This is one I'll probably play over and over for several weeks.

Here we go again, another few and far between update on what is, my life.


-Moved to a nice house out on the cusp between PDX and Tigard back in December. Thankfully I'm living far enough away from the riff raff (shit I sound like a classist...). It's not without it's faults though, but it's definitely comfortable.

-Got two kittens a while back. Bettie (pure black siamese mix) and Sofie (silver/lilac tipped ragdoll/siamese mix). Little hellians at times, but I love em both to death.

-Played the shit out of WoW for a while, again. Built a Draenei Shaman up to 63, and just gave up after realizing that I'm paying $15 a month for a complete waste of time (and I know I've said that once before also...)

-Wii soft modding is fun. Especially when you can have the ability to play Day of the Tentacle from the comfort of your bed.

-Did I mention that I'm now an assistant project manager for a litigation support company? And that I've never been more financially secure? Oh and I FINALLY got my 1st credit card last month. Now to steer my path to financial ruin...

-I quit smoking pot... Been smoking it so goddamned much, that it's been impeding my life. Maybe I'll switch to blow. At least with booger sugar you can get shit done.

-I seriously need to get out more.

Anyways, that's just the gist of it. I'm still alive. But I sincerely doubt I'll be on LJ more often. So that is the point of this post, to let you all know (well at least those who care enough to read this) that I can be reached on Twitter now if you really, ABSOLUTELY need to get a hold of me.

Holy fuck it's been a while.

I'm posting this with my Wii so this'll be short.

I've been doing fine lately.
Moving to a nice house this week. But hating the move itself... I got promoted to Assistant Project Manager at ye olde litigation support company. Making more money than I've ever been used to, yet I'm still broke. Fortunately this time my hard earned cash is going towards a comfortable lifestyle, in contrast to the shitstorm that was my life 4 years ago.
