Still alive, yadda yadda... This is becoming some sort of bi-quad-annual thing with the LiveJournal and all. But if you're reading this, then you know shit's good.

Christmas was good, spent it with the Miz and some friends with some dinner. Then the next day me and the nephews hung out in my new swanky-ass den, getting inebriated while wrecking classic tunes on Rock Band, and watched a bunch of idiotic internet videos, such as LASAGNA CAT!

Meh. The weekend was miserably hot. But thank Sagan's Ghost for air conditioners. Speaking of Sagan, THIS should be arriving at my door anytime soon.

Went out and finally bought Burnout Paradise. At $30 it's a steal, what with the free expansions coming and all. Oh yeah, and I beat BCR over the weekend. Shit is hardcore bananas. But the ending is sooo worth it, just like the NES version, but yet I crave more.

Also been stocking up on subtitled eps of Game Center CX. It's even more entertaining once you can understand what's being said. Even Misti's getting into it. I can't wait for the official releases. And I wouldn't be surprised if there's a bastardized American version to come...

Interesting work day...

Come in, and the first thing that happens is that I'm suddenly thrust with the responsibility to train a new employee assigned to our imaging department.

"Can you train him?"

"I guess I've got no choice..."

But it went well. The guy knows how to code Python and manage satellite data. Which in my area of work doesn't apply anywhere whatsoever. About right here I'd insert some witty anecdote but I'm too tired from the day.

But the interesting part about it was that one of our new imagers once worked in the game industry. Freelance pixel pushing as he called it.

He worked with Blue Sky Software on the first two Jurassic Park games on Sega Genesis. I think he also worked on the Vectormans as well. Then he moved onto 989 Studios for some sports games and some other odd projects.

It made for an interesting work day. We talked about the industry in general, and helped the hours go fly faster than a tweeker in a Delorean time machine.

Other than that, me and Misti are going to have to move soon due to this house's owner foreclosing. Long story short, we're moving in a couple months. But maybe things will get better if we move closer to work.

And so it goes...

Well actually to those who've known me through the ages, I've always had an affinity for all things electronic/video game related. Ever since I've been pulling in the mad duckets from my current job, I've been buying extravagant crap left and right. With the erratic hours of my job coupled with all these toys to play with, I've not been able to establish a somewhat 'normal' social life (even if I try :P ).

Oh yeah, I've quit smoking now. Been without a cigarette for 6 days now. Which is the longest I've willingly gone without. It's been pretty easy so far. I've only had one freakout moment from the withdrawals and I'm sparingly chewing nicorette to quell the (very mild) cravings. I'm already noticing a surge of motivation and energy, but I could do without the expelling of the lung butter. I'm believing that the ease of quitting is attributed to the fact that I've smoked American Spirit ultra-lights for the past 12 months.

I caved in and bought a PS3 and GTA4 a while ago. All I can really say about GTA4 is 'meh'. Don't get me wrong, the graphics are eye pleasing, the environments beautiful and the plot is very gripping. But the gameplay as a whole seems like one giant step backwards from San Andreas. Too much focus on realism, which is kind of ironic considering that video games are meant to be an ESCAPE from REALITY.

Now I'm currently neck deep in Metal Gear Solid 4 - Tactical Cutscene Action, which isn't necessarily bad at all. I haven't completed the game quite yet, but it's apparant that there's quite a bit of gameplay buried deep in all of the theatrics. This is one I'll probably play over and over for several weeks.

Cliff notes of Johnny's life for the past year or so

Here we go again, another few and far between update on what is, my life.

-Moved to a nice house out on the cusp between PDX and Tigard back in December. Thankfully I'm living far enough away from the riff raff (shit I sound like a classist...). It's not without it's faults though, but it's definitely comfortable.

-Got two kittens a while back. Bettie (pure black siamese mix) and Sofie (silver/lilac tipped ragdoll/siamese mix). Little hellians at times, but I love em both to death.

-Played the shit out of WoW for a while, again. Built a Draenei Shaman up to 63, and just gave up after realizing that I'm paying $15 a month for a complete waste of time (and I know I've said that once before also...)

-Wii soft modding is fun. Especially when you can have the ability to play Day of the Tentacle from the comfort of your bed.

-Did I mention that I'm now an assistant project manager for a litigation support company? And that I've never been more financially secure? Oh and I FINALLY got my 1st credit card last month. Now to steer my path to financial ruin...

-I quit smoking pot... Been smoking it so goddamned much, that it's been impeding my life. Maybe I'll switch to blow. At least with booger sugar you can get shit done.

-I seriously need to get out more.

Anyways, that's just the gist of it. I'm still alive. But I sincerely doubt I'll be on LJ more often. So that is the point of this post, to let you all know (well at least those who care enough to read this) that I can be reached on Twitter now if you really, ABSOLUTELY need to get a hold of me.

I've been doing fine lately.
Moving to a nice house this week. But hating the move itself... I got promoted to Assistant Project Manager at ye olde litigation support company. Making more money than I've ever been used to, yet I'm still broke. Fortunately this time my hard earned cash is going towards a comfortable lifestyle, in contrast to the shitstorm that was my life 4 years ago.

Fuck man... It's 5:25 in the fucking morning, and I can't fucking sleep. Might as well write something...

The 4th was ... eventful in a sense I guess. Me and Misti went up to some mountain point (can't remember the name at the moment, but it's a clear view of Vancouver, Portland, and Washington County all around) to watch the fireworks. It was nice, until the massive swarm of people moving over to get a good view of the downtown show blocked our view like a herd of fucking retarded cows. Then suddenly some college girls started singing Sublime's "What I got" out of the blue, for no apparant fucking reason. Then we shifted our focus toward the Vancouver horizon, being littered with a seemingly infinite number of colorful bursts. Then I fantasized (or was I expecting?) a nuclear explosion topping it all off.

...I need to lay off the reading and conspiracy theory movies... o_O

I know I've been secluding myself, from friends that I've never had, family that I've ignored in response to the neglect that they've provided me. I've even secluded myself from partaking in mass media. I've been confused and depressed. Then I saw this movie:

Combined with past personal experiences of life in general, this has convinced me that I'm not alone in my mindset. This answers why I've grown fond of Bill Hicks' and George Carlin's scathing/hilarious commentary of life. Why I've become so engrossed in the deep plotlines of the Metal Gear Solid game series (yeah laugh all you want, but it seems like it's a postmodern expression of current events). And why I can't seem to stop myself from listening to NIN's new Year Zero album on repeat (sure it sounds like Trent was just randomly pushing buttons on his Macbook while on a tour bus, but don't hear it... LISTEN to it)

And now, I'm no longer afraid. I know what's going to happen. And I know that I'm only one person. The best I can do is to advise those around me to ALWAYS keep an open mind, to EXPLORE the wealth of information that's out there, and to judge for THEMSELVES their own perception of reality.

To those who read this: For the love of god, love one another. Share your life with those who will accept you. Don't judge, don't discriminate, don't assume. Turn off your fucking television. Smoke marijuana and listen to classic rock albums if you fucking have to. Keep yourself SANE. Don't be another cookie cutout of what modern day society wants you to be.

And most important of all... Try your damndest to be patient. Something will give, someday (soon...)

Hey everyone. Just poking my head through the LJ door once again.

The 14th was my 28th b-day. I feel like I'm 82 though...

I'm now an "OFFICIAL" (according to my employer), Microsoft Windows Vista Tech Support Professional. Which in other words means I sit on my ass all day telling idiots over the phone why putting in the installation disc upside down doesn't work.

About to sign my name in blood at the local community access TV studio so we can get the ball rolling on the ADD project.

Well after sitting on my ass playing WoW while stoned for about 3 weeks, I quickly got scooped up for a 3 week course in IT support for Vista when it launches, which pays pretty damn nice. Dunno how the hell that happened in the middle of my cannabis and WoW fueled binge, but I'm glad it did.

The TV show is slowly...but SURELY coming together. We're going to broadcast on TVCTV so it'll hit the greater Portland/Metro areas. And the pilot should hit the air by next fall.

Skits to come: Nintendo Wii-WHEE! Adult controller, Marlon Brando inadvertently walking into a porn shop (glory holes and buckets of popcorn ensue), St. Emo's Fire, A generic/seriously toned commercial for an ISP (with the slogan, "I CAME!").

If anybody still reads this trite, we're prolly gonna be holding open auditions out in Beaverton toward the end of January for more cast members. There's NO MONEY, but we are gonna do some shooting to wrap up a nicely polished pilot to pitch out to various networks eventually. So if you have an asshole on your back-er I mean AGENT, or are part of the Screen Actor's Guild, don't bother. We can't afford your fucking limos and bottled water. WE'RE BROKE! It's a labor of love, not money... Well maybe money... But love first.

Went and saw Jackass Two last night, in downtown at the Pioneer Place theater. And lo and behold, Ehren McGhehey was in the front row of the audience. How fucking sweet is that? (except for the fact that some jerkass behind me wanted to scream "WE LOVE YOU EHREN!@#" like every 5 minutes during the movie.

Anyways, the best part about the movie wasn't the fact that Ehren was there, or when Pontius drinks the ... ugh I won't spoil it. No, it's the fact that Bam "Pussy ass sellout" Margera CRIES on three seperate occasions throughout the movie!@# That was worth seeing it alone.

So yea, I recommend it. But just for that factor alone.
